thoughts and views of an Iowan Cyclist

About me February 4, 2011

In this blog I will posting the random musings and somewhat knowledgeable thoughts of an Iowan Cyclist.

Introduction: I’ve been riding bikes for my whole life, but have really gotten into it these last few years. I started riding a Lotus Excelle road bike, but have now graduated to a beautiful 2012 Specialized Allez Sport. I was born and raised in rural Iowa, and came of age while working, living, and learning at my parents family owned bakery. I was home schooled for the majority of my early education, after which I attended the local community college for two years, and graduated with a associates degree in Graphic Media Design. I have since moved to Forest City, and am working in the field that I have grown to love, design.

I am a born-again Christian and I feel that cycling along the lonely, never-ending roads of Iowa is the part of my life where I feel closest to my God. Hopefully through these postings I, along with you the reader, can not only become better riders, but have our eyes opened to the beauty of this state as well as the wonder and power of the God that created it.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy reading my posts, however strange and random they may be. Don’t be shy to drop me a question or two, or just say hi.

Sounds like you are well on your way to professional cyclist. I usually ride 1,000 miles each summer, but I’m not aspiring to a racing career – just out enjoying a bike ride with my husband and getting some exercise too.
